My pieces are loose illustrations of narratives I love. I think of stories as creators of places, worlds, realms. Art-making is my way of inhabiting those worlds.
This drawing is part of a series of ink drawings in red and purple. This one is an illustration based on Planet of Exile by Ursula K. Le Guin.
Ink has become my favourite medium. As with watercolour, I work here with unpredictability and risk. These two factors require the artist's presence but also a sense of openness to whatever comes up. Art-making becomes a playful dialogue between the mind and what is happening.
