The original painting of this limited edition print was made as part of a series of postcards created for a fundraising event to support research into Children's Leukemia. Ruby, a beautiful inspiring young girl, environmental activist and art lover, died of leukaemia at age 18.
The series, named after Ruby, consists of 4 ink drawings depicting forests and trees that I'm offering now in a limited edition of prints, all available in this shop. 30% of the proceeds from the series will go to support Ruby's fund with CCLG. (Children's Cancer and Leukemia Group)
Ruby's motto was 'Live kindly, live loudly' which is the name of the Instagram account where you can find out more about Ruby and her inspiring legacy (@livekindlyliveloudly)
Ink has become my favourite medium. As with watercolour, I work here with unpredictability and risk. These two factors require the artist's presence and also a sense of openness to whatever comes up.
