This series of ink drawings were created in 2020-21 during the lockdown. They evoke a nostalgic view of travelling that the word voyage evokes. Travelling as discovery, as facing the mysterious with awe.
In this case, travelling has been the process of creating the artwork itself. Working with the unpredictability of ink, being open to whatever came and responding to it quickly and intuitively to create imaginary maps, landscapes and flora. A travelling inwards to a place of creative reverie.
